Renowned Yoruba actress Eniola Ajao recently opened up about the challenges she faced while trying to raise funds for one of her film projects.
In an interview shared on Biola Adebayo Ent’s official YouTube channel, Eniola spoke candidly about the financial hurdles many actors encounter when producing films and the personal sacrifices she made to bring her vision to life.
At the time, she was determined to make the movie a reality but lacked the necessary funds. Despite her deep passion for the project, Eniola chose not to seek financial assistance or take out loans, believing that borrowing could lead to complications she wanted to avoid.
Instead of giving up on her dream, Eniola Ajao took a bold and determined route. She evaluated her assets and realized that some of her personal belongings could be the key to funding her film project. With unwavering focus and a strong sense of purpose, she made the courageous decision to sell several valuable items to finance the movie.
Among the possessions she parted with were two of her cars, a piece of land, her jewelry, and some gold—each symbolizing years of hard work and personal achievement. Eniola chose to keep her decision private, knowing that others might try to dissuade her from taking such a significant risk. Her motivation was rooted in the firm belief that this was the best path forward, even if it meant letting go of things she deeply valued.
Once she raised the required funds, Eniola entrusted the money to her movie producer to begin the process of bringing her vision to life.
She said, “I sold my 2 cars, my land, my jewellery and some gold when I needed money to produce a movie. I didn’t tell anyone about it because they would have discouraged me from doing it, and after I sold everything, I gave the money to my movie producer to do all the necessary things to put the movie together for me.”
