“We Cry Silently That No One Sees What We’re Facing” – Omowunmi Dada Breaks Silence on Leg Surgery and Private Struggle with Pain

Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has revealed that she recently underwent leg surgery after enduring prolonged pain in silence.

In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the 35-year-old actress documented her recovery journey through a video montage.

The footage captured various stages of her healing process, including hospital visits, using crutches, undergoing X-rays, and spending time with family and friends.

Remarkably, despite her health challenges, Omowunmi continued to fulfill her professional commitments and attend public events, all while managing her struggles privately.

“Sometimes we smile through the pain so convincingly that no one sees the storm we’re facing,” she wrote. “For so long, I pushed through the discomfort, walking through film sets and public events like everything was fine, but deep down I was struggling.”

Eventually, she made the tough decision to have surgery, which she described as both a humbling and life-changing moment.

“The idea of not being able to do basic things—walk freely, use the bathroom without help—was overwhelming. But God carried me through it. I’m still on the journey, but my healing is unfolding beautifully,” she added.

Omowunmi also expressed deep appreciation for those who supported her throughout the experience.

“To my amazing doctors, thank you for your dedication. To my friends who checked in, visited, and reminded me I wasn’t alone—thank you. And to my family, your strength gave me strength,” she said.

The actress continues to shine in the industry, recently starring in titles like Ada Omo Daddy (2023), The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi (2023), Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (2024), Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024), Finding Me (2025), and Family Brouhaha (2025).
