On Father’s Day, Ayomiku Alabi, daughter of renowned gospel singer Tope Alabi, paid tribute to both her husband, Oluwole Bantale, and her stepfather, Soji Alabi.
The singer and content creator took to Instagram on Sunday, sharing a heartfelt video with Soji Alabi, followed by a photo of her husband to celebrate the special occasion.
In the caption, she wrote: “Happy Father’s Day
To the Loves of my life
@officialpopesojialabi and @bantelmotors
May the joy of fatherhood never leave you
I love you both so much ❤️”
Ayomiku got married to Oluwole on March 12, 2025, in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends.
Ayomiku Alabi received widespread praise after her stepfather, Soji Alabi, walked her down the aisle on her wedding day. In a heartfelt message shared after the ceremony, she described him as a true father who had shown her unwavering love and care since childhood.
“This man loves me beyond words,” she wrote. “From childhood up until the day you gave my hand in marriage to Olu… I love you, Baami.”
However, the touching moment sparked controversy when her biological father, Mayegun Olaoye, resurfaced online, claiming he had been estranged from Ayomiku’s life for over 20 years.
In a 2020 interview, Mayegun Olaoye claimed he had made efforts to reconnect with Ayomiku but was allegedly blocked from doing so.
Following her wedding, the issue resurfaced online, with some social media users questioning his absence from the ceremony and expressing concern over his exclusion.
Despite the criticism, Ayomiku has stood by her decision, affirming that Soji Alabi is the only father figure she has ever known.
