The bereaved family of the late Timothy Adegoke recently expressed their deep appreciation to Oriyomi Hamzat, an esteemed activist and advocate for justice, for his unwavering support during their relentless quest for justice.
In November 2021, Timothy Adegoke, a young postgraduate student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, was reported missing after his stay at a hotel.
Later on, law enforcement authorities uncovered the lifeless body of Adegoke in a shallow burial site located along Old Ede Road in the town. Further investigations unveiled that he had purportedly met his demise at the Hilton Hotel in Ile-Ife. Subsequently, Adedoyin and his accomplices faced a total of 18 charges, including murder, conspiracy, violation of secrecy oaths, and various other offenses.
Oriyomi Hamzat, renowned for his staunch advocacy for social justice, human rights, and equality, displayed a deep involvement in Timothy’s case. He used his platform to amplify their plea for a comprehensive investigation and fair legal proceedings to unravel the truth behind Timothy’s untimely death.
As the verdict was about to be delivered, the family of the late Adegoke found comfort in the unwavering support and unwavering dedication of Oriyomi Hamzat. They acknowledged his selflessness, unwavering commitment, and determination to fight for what is just.
