Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her longtime mentor and colleague, Kudirat Ogunro, popularly known as Kudi Alagbo, for her significant role in helping raise her daughter, Priscilla Ojo. The touching moment took place during the final leg of Priscilla’s elaborate wedding to Tanzanian artist Juma Jux, themed “African Royal Wedding,” held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
As the grand celebration unfolded—marking the culmination of over five ceremonies hosted in both Nigeria and Tanzania—Iyabo took a moment to reflect on Kudi’s support during her early years of motherhood. She recalled how Kudi stood by her side, especially as she balanced the demands of raising children with her blossoming acting career.
In a now-viral video shared by Kudi via her Instagram handle @semilorepweety, Iyabo, beautifully dressed in her ceremonial aso ebi, was seen warmly appreciating Kudi for being a pillar of support and for playing a vital role in the upbringing of her children.
Kudi, a close associate of Iyabo Ojo, was praised for her hands-on support in raising both Priscilla and her brother, Festus, especially during periods when Iyabo was away on movie sets. Her active involvement and unwavering presence made her an integral part of the children’s upbringing.
In Yoruba, the actress said, “This is part of the people that raised Priscilla, this is Mummy Priscilla.
“Thank you, so much. For those times, I hunt for jobs, when I go to locations.
“You will stay at home to stand in gap for me.
“You will feed and care for her and Festus.
“You do give them all the necessary training, including beating them once in a while.” They both giggled.
“This is the real Mama Priscilla, she was the one that taught Priscilla how to cook
“She was the one that bathed her, fed her, and took her to school.
“Thank you, so much,” she added.
The actress went on to offer prayers for Kudi, while teasing her about marriage plans.
In response, Kudi confirmed her intention to marry someday.
