Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has congratulated her friend and colleague, Iyabo Ojo, on the birth of her grandson.
On Sunday, August 24th, which also marked Funke’s 48th birthday, Gossipinfo reported that Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla, welcomed her first child, a baby boy.
Celebrating the joyous news on Instagram, Funke said God’s timing is perfect, adding that the baby’s arrival on her birthday is a beautiful testimony of His goodness. She praised Iyabo as the “sexiest grandma ever” and expressed her excitement for her. Funke also congratulated Priscilla and her husband, Juma Jux, declaring that their union is now sealed forever.
Despite her daughter being in the delivery room on her birthday, Iyabo Ojo still took time to celebrate Funke Akindele on her 48th birthday. Sharing stunning photos of the actress, she described Funke as her “friend turned sister” and wished her many more years of blessings, happiness, countless wins, and love.
Recall that Funke and Iyabo were once at loggerheads after Iyabo called her out when a blogger criticized Toyin Abraham’s movie The Ghost and The Tout. However, they reconciled in 2022, sharing a warm embrace and pecks at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) Season 8.
Since then, their friendship has grown stronger, with both supporting each other’s milestones. In June, Funke surprised Iyabo with a brand-new iPhone 16, fulfilling her promise to replace her Samsung phone, as Iyabo proudly revealed on Instagram.
