Nollywood stars Funmi Awelewa and Regina Chukwu are grieving the loss of Nigerian comedian Sanku Comedy.
Reports indicate that the popular skitmaker and actor tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident on September 1, 2025, along the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Ibadan.
Taking to her Instagram page, Funmi Awelewa shared that upon hearing the news, she sent one of her students who lives near Bowen Hospital to check on him. She was told he was responding to treatment at the time.
FYIThe actress said she prayed fervently against death but added that God ultimately knows best. Heartbroken by the loss, she reflected on his pain, efforts, strength, and struggles.
“When I saw the news online, I quickly sent one of my students who stays close to Bowen hospital, and he told me that he met one of your friends at the hospital who told us that you’re responding to treatment. I prayed to God, we prayed.

Also mourning him, Regina said she feels for his mother.
