Veteran Nollywood comedian Adeola Kazeem, popularly known as Lanko Omo Oba Dubai, has opened up about his family struggles, personal challenges, and journey of survival in the film industry.
The Abeokuta-born entertainer shared these revelations in an emotional interview with FEELRIGHTNEWS TV on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
One of the most painful memories he recalled was his strained relationship with his father, who, according to him, turned his back on him because of his passion for acting.
“My father rejected me as a son because I was acting movie for 8 years,” Lanko recounted. He explained that years later, his father fell ill and was admitted to a hospital in Lagos but was not attended to for days. His stepmother eventually called him for help.
On arriving at the hospital, his popularity drew attention, which eventually made the doctors notice his father. “And after I told the doctor, he was referred to another hospital where I followed him. And he told me if somebody told him then that I would have been the child to take care of him, he wouldn’t have listened,” he revealed.
The actor also addressed controversies surrounding his personal life. He strongly denied speculations about marrying his house help. “I never married my house help because I never had house help,” he said.
Speaking about his failed marriage, Lanko made shocking revelations, describing his ex-wife as violent and dangerous.
“My ex-wife is a devil. She once attacked me with a cutlass, injuring my head and hand, which left my hand imbalanced,” he recounted.
He further revealed that the same woman introduced another lady to him under the guise of learning acting, but unexpectedly, she later became the mother of his four children.
Despite these past challenges, the comic actor said he is now at peace, happily married, and focused on his career and family.
