Kudirat Abeniade, popularly known as Mama No Network and a renowned Yoruba actress, recently shared a harrowing experience from her early days in Nollywood.
In a recent interview, Abeniade recounted a near-fatal accident that took place while filming in Ijebu Ode. She explained that the incident occurred as she and a friend were heading to a different location to shoot a hospital scene.
“We were moving to another location for a hospital scene,” she said. “The bike wasn’t strong enough to carry two people properly. Suddenly, a trailer was approaching, and the bike man jumped off, leaving me and my friend on the bike.”
The situation escalated rapidly. “My friend performed a stunt while my head was upside down, and blood was gushing from my head and chest,” Abeniade recounted. The accident left her in a critical condition, and she considers herself lucky to have survived.
Her story sheds light on the dangers and hardships actors often endure, especially in the early stages of their careers. Abeniade’s experience underscores the importance of enforcing safety measures on film sets and the need for extreme caution when performing stunts or handling risky equipment.
