The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has responded to those mocking his command of English.
Addressing the criticism, MC Oluomo acknowledged that while he may not be fluent in English, his success has enabled him to provide a top-quality education for his children.
Speaking at a public gathering, the NURTW President recounted his journey from working as a bus conductor to becoming a top official in the transport union, crediting his rise to perseverance and hard work.
In a viral video making rounds on social media, the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), MC Oluomo, addressed those mocking his English, emphasizing that his achievements outweigh his fluency.
He recalled how he worked tirelessly despite not having a formal education, saying, “They said I said ‘Kundus’—is he not my son? You’re educated, but what have you achieved? Go and compete with my children.”
MC Oluomo proudly noted that his children are raised in wealth and hold American and UK citizenship. “I worked hard to reach this level. Whether it’s ‘Kundus’ or ‘kudos,’ what’s the difference? What exactly do you want to hear? English isn’t my mother tongue—Yoruba is.”
His message was clear: his success story and the legacy he’s creating through his children speak far louder than perfect grammar.
