Ronke Odusanya wanted to produce three new movies and was in search of a fresh face. At the time, Allwell Ademola was her consultant, and she introduced me to Ronke. God bless Allwell for me — she guided me onto the path that gave birth to Rotimi Salami. From that day till now, I have been getting jobs every single day.
Many people don’t know I’m a Muslim; my full name is Rotimi Abdulrasaq Salami. I started acting in 2005, but my big break didn’t come until 2017. Before then, life was tough I struggled, sometimes without transport fare to attend auditions. On some days, kind strangers who didn’t even know me would pay my fare.
I grew up battling serious inferiority complex, and I didn’t regain my confidence until I became a celebrity. If you want to succeed in life, focus on solving people’s problems.
People often assumed I was dating Allwell, but that has never been the case. In fact, Allwell once called me to say she heard people were spreading that rumor.
