“In Nigeria, artists can be paid as much as $400,000 to perform at a naming ceremony.” – Davido Disclose

Popular singer Davido has sparked mixed reactions after revealing that artists can earn up to $400,000 for performing at naming ceremonies.

He shared this during a recent interview on ‘Tap In With TT’.

In the video, he stated that artists can be booked for naming ceremonies for as much as $400,000.

He drew a comparison with India, pointing out that, similar to the culture there, it’s common in Nigeria to invite top artists to perform at special events.

Davido said in part

“You can get booked for a naming ceremony – $400K, It’s just like in India, they always celebrate anything. Once you are doing a wedding or a birthday, especially if you have money, the main thing is to invite a big artist…”
