Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has opened up about her personal life, revealing that at 52, she is single and has no children.
In a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria, the award-winning star was asked if she had any children, to which she responded, “No, I don’t, unfortunately.”
Bimbo Akintola, while speaking on her age, said, “I’m 52 years old. Born 1973, May 5th.”
When asked why she had remained single, Akintola was quick to clarify that it wasn’t a deliberate choice, stating, “Not chosen oo.”
Back in October 2024, during an interview with actor Emmanuel Ehumadu, Bimbo Akintola revealed that she has stayed unmarried because the love of her life had passed away.
She, however, stated that if she meets a man she can truly spend the rest of her life with, she would be open to remarrying, regardless of her age.
“If I ever see someone and I see forever with that person, I will do it even if I am 82, I will do it but I won’t do it if I don’t see that person.
“I am not able to just stress myself out for anything. Do you know how difficult marriage is? It is difficult, it is very difficult and you will now go on and do it with someone you know you can’t do forever with.”
The actress, celebrated for her decades-long career in Nollywood, made her debut in 1995 with the film Owo Blow alongside Femi Adebayo, followed by Out of Bounds in 1997, where she starred with Richard Mofe-Damijo.
A Lagos native, Akintola attended Maryland Convent Private School and later Command Day Secondary School before earning a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan. She most recently appeared in Kemi Adetiba’s series To Kill a Monkey, portraying Inspector Mo Ogunlesi.
