Opeyemi Aiyeola, a veteran actress, has reaffirmed her decision to step away from acting, stating that she would make the same choice again if given the opportunity.
In an Instagram post, the 47-year-old shared a video of herself enjoying music in her car, accompanied by a powerful caption: “Mood every time I’m called a failed actress and I see the magnificent results of my personal sacrifices.”
In the caption, she wrote: “Walahi if given the opportunity again I will choose to abandon my acting career over n over again. It is my journey, experience, struggles and the rewards sweet me die.”
Her post garnered supportive messages from fans and fellow celebrities, who praised her contributions to Nollywood and commended her for prioritising personal fulfillment over fame.
This declaration comes shortly after a public disagreement with fellow actress Eniola Badmus.
The dispute began when Badmus commented on one of Opeyemi’s Instagram videos, asking, “Ope, where is your front hair?”
Opeyemi viewed the remark as body shaming and voiced her disappointment, pointing out Eniola’s own history of facing online mockery.
Although Eniola issued an apology, Opeyemi deemed it insincere and emphasized that they weren’t close enough for such jokes. While she eventually took down her initial video, she stood firm on her position.
