Comedy was never part of Lizzy Jay’s original life plan, according to popular Nigerian actress and skit maker Adeyela Adebola.
In a recent interview on Nollywood on Radio, the content creator shared that her entry into skit-making happened purely by accident.
Lizzy revealed that as a child, she dreamed of becoming a singer and a medical doctor. Skit-making, she explained, was never something she envisioned for herself.
“I had no plans to be a comedienne,” she said. “What I wanted was to do music, go to school, and become a doctor. Making skits was just something I started out of boredom. I was home alone with my phone and wanted to do something fun.”
She clarified that her entry into content creation wasn’t inspired by trends or other skit makers. “It wasn’t that I saw someone doing skits and decided to copy them. I just started mine without any expectations,” Lizzy added.
“When Omotola reposted my skit, I realized this was something more than just a way to pass time. That’s when I decided to keep going and take it seriously,” she explained.
Since then, Lizzy Jay has risen to prominence as a comedic voice online and has also made her mark in Nollywood. She has featured in movies such as Dear Affy, Dubara, and The Order of Things.
Her story stands as an example of how unexpected opportunities can reshape one’s path. What started as a random act to fight boredom has evolved into a successful career in entertainment.
Lizzy Jay continues to entertain fans with her skits while also expanding her presence in the Nigerian film industry.
