Actress Bimpe Akintunde, popularly known as Wasila Coded, has opened up about the frightening experiences she faced during her pregnancy, including several death revelations from people who had no idea she was expecting.
Sharing her story in an Instagram post on Friday, Bimpe revealed that her pregnancy journey was filled with constant health challenges, starting with a low blood pressure diagnosis in January.
“I was in and out of the hospital on emergency treatment about six times during this pregnancy,” she wrote.
“So many scary dreams and death revelations, even from people that didn’t see me nor were aware I was pregnant.”
Bimpe recounted how she collapsed on fellow actor Kenny George in February while filming The Return of Sambala in Ikorodu, before rushing herself to a nearby clinic for treatment.
She shared that on July 17, during one of her regular Thursday clinic visits, she chose to spend the night after feeling weak from treatment. By the next morning, doctors informed her that she was ready to deliver. With the gospel song Omo Oba Ma Beru playing softly in the background, she went into labour.
“Contraction no be anybody mate o,” she joked in Yoruba, describing the intensity of the moment.
Within three hours, she delivered her baby naturally without Caesarean section and complications, marking what the clinic recorded as its fastest labour of the year.
“After almost 10 years… Mom and daughter doing fine. Dear God, it can only be you.
Alhamdulilai Robil Alameen,” she wrote.
Her statement comes amid rumours sparked by a viral TikTok video, which some speculated was about her child’s father. Bimpe has clarified that the clip was taken out of context from a live session where she addressed a fake account impersonating her.
The revelation also follows growing speculation of a possible rift between Akintunde and her husband, Yousuph Ganiyu. Observant fans noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram, deleted their photos together, and that Yousuph has been absent from her posts since the birth of their child in July.
The pair tied the knot in June 2023 in a Nikah ceremony, with Bimpe once describing Yousuph as a man who had been intentional about her “long before we met.”
