Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao recently opened up about her journey into motherhood and the reasons she chose to keep her son out of the public eye. She revealed that becoming pregnant at the age of 20 was an overwhelming and emotional experience. Eniola admitted she felt isolated and feared societal judgment, believing the world was against her. At the time, she was uncertain about her future and worried that having an unplanned pregnancy might affect her chances of finding a life partner.
The pressure from her family significantly influenced how Eniola handled her pregnancy. She shared that her parents had always emphasized the importance of completing her education before starting a family. While societal expectations weighed heavily on her, Eniola noted that many women—like actress Omotola Jalade—had married young, some as early as 17 or 18. Nevertheless, her parents’ strong insistence on prioritizing her education added another layer of emotional complexity to her situation.
Despite societal expectations and her own personal fears, Eniola Ajao made the difficult choice to keep both her pregnancy and her son out of the public eye. She explained that this decision stemmed from a deep fear of being judged and the concern that having a child at a young age might hurt her chances of finding a life partner. At the time, she believed that revealing her status as a young mother could deter potential romantic relationships.
One of her biggest fears was that no man would want to be with her once they knew she had a child. This anxiety played a major role in her decision to keep her son hidden, even though he brought immense love and happiness into her life.
Now, with greater maturity and life experience, Eniola continues to navigate the challenges of motherhood while balancing a demanding career and personal life. She remains fiercely protective of her son, appreciating the value of the privacy she has preserved and the strength she’s gained from her journey.
