‘His Colleagues In The Industry Are The Ones ConspIring Against Him.’ – Portable Alleges After Ibrahim Chatta Loses Out At 11th AMVCA (Video)

Controversial musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has alleged that there is a conspiracy within the Nigerian entertainment industry targeting certain individuals.

He pointed to Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta as a recent victim, following Chatta’s loss at the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Chatta was nominated for Best Lead Actor for his performance in House of GAA, but the award went to Femi Adebayo for his role in Seven Doors. Adebayo’s co-star in the film, Chioma Chukwuka, also took home the award for Best Lead Actress.

Reacting in a video message shared via his Instagram page, Portable insisted that Ibrahim Chatta was more deserving of the award for Best Lead Actor.

He said, “My fans, there is a gang up in the Nigerian entertainment industry, even in Nollywood. They didn’t give Ibrahim Chatta an award at the 11th AMVCA despite his impeccable acting. That was how I was also snubbed by The Headies Awards.

We don’t need awards. We need food, we need money. We have money but we can’t use money to buy awards like some persons

“Ibrahim Chatta, if they don’t award you, God will reward you. My boss, you are my mentor. I love you.”

Recall that Ibrahim Chatta made a similar claim in 2023 when he was yet to bag an AMVCA nomination. He had claimed that his exclusion from the award was a conspiracy against him.
