Nollywood actress Kemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, has opened up about her broken engagement to Herod Lammy.
In a recent interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo, Kemity revealed that she turned down her ex-fiancé’s request for them to have a child together. She explained that, being at the peak of her career and financially successful, she couldn’t afford to put her thriving journey on hold.
To make matters worse, Kemity revealed that she and her ex share the same AS genotype, which medically makes them incompatible for childbirth due to the risk of having children with sickle cell disease.
“Things didn’t work out between us. He is a good man, and he is okay. He loves my job, but things didn’t work out. The reason is that he wanted me to have a child now, and you know, my children are growing gradually.
It’s not as if I can’t get pregnant now, but I can’t leave my career. This is the peak of my career, and I am making money now. If I decide to go home for three years, my career will slow down.
We discussed it, and he agreed, but I noticed that he wasn’t okay with it. He has had a child before.
We couldn’t sort it, I am AS, and he’s also AS”.

In the interview, Kemity also opened up about the reason she has two children with different men, addressing the constant mockery she faces over it. The curvy actress revealed that the father of her first child was the man who deflowered her, but sadly, he was killed in a hotel shortly after returning from Malaysia. She explained that his death left her a widow at a young age.
Back in 2023, Kemity had taken to Instagram to announce her engagement, sharing a video flaunting her engagement ring and revealing that she was finally off the market after saying Yes to her man. Celebrating with her, fellow actor Itele expressed his joy over the news, describing it as a beautiful and fulfilling way to end the year. He affectionately referred to Kemity as his daughter and said he was happy she had been taken.
