Yoruba Nollywood star Owolabi Ajasa has dismissed claims that veteran actor and filmmaker Ahmed Alasari was poisoned.
In a recent interview with FeelRightNews TV, Ajasa clarified that Alasari tragically passed away in a car accident while traveling to Lagos to deliver the master copy of his film to a marketer for advertisement.
Ajasa revealed that the late actor had informed him of his travel plans that fateful Sunday morning. Despite his determination to complete the journey, Alasari was unfortunately involved in a fatal accident.
Ajasa further explained that he was at home when the tragic incident occurred. He revealed that he usually accompanied Alasari on his travels, joining him 95% of the time. However, on that particular day, he had other commitments that required him to stay back.
He recalled how Alasari had reassured him that there was no need to travel together that day, as he had something important for Ajasa to handle at home. Sadly, just hours later, he received the heartbreaking news of the accident.
In his words: “I remember it was on a Sunday morning. Alasari told me that he wanted to travel to Lagos from Abeokuta to submit a master copy of a movie to a marketer and also run an advertisement. That’s when he had an accident. So, Alasari wasn’t poisoned—he died in an accident while trying to submit a master copy of his movie. I didn’t even know he was dead until we got to the hospital.”
