Mercy Aigbe, a popular Nollywood actress, clinched the award for Best Supporting Actress at the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

As expected, the star-studded event took place at the prestigious Eko Hotels & Suites in Lagos, drawing a host of celebrities, according to a report by Famous9ja on Saturday night.

Aigbe had beaten several of her colleagues like Meg Otanwa, Tina MBA, Ireti Doyle, Ini Dima Okojie, Omoni Oboli and Darasimi Nadi to win Best Supporting Actress for her role in Farmer’s Bride.

An overjoyed Mercy in her speech, expressed how humbled she is to still be getting recognition despite being in the industry for over 20 years.

“I feel so humbled. It’s such an incredible honour to get recognition for your work. I’ve been doing this for over twenty-something years and still get this recognition. To God be the glory. Big thanks to the AMVCA awards. Thank you to Film One Studios for having me on this project. Thank you to the cast and crew, my director, and everyone who has supported me.”

Just a day ago, Mercy Aigbe reflected on her first AMVCA win, acknowledging that she has received numerous nominations since then. The actress, who is married to Kazim Adeoti, expressed gratitude for her continued relevance in the industry after more than two decades. She emphasized the importance of consistency, authenticity, and the ability to reinvent oneself, crediting these qualities as key factors in her enduring success.
