Davido Addresses Viral Allegations of Ubi Franklin St€aling a Wristwatch at His US Wedding (Video)

Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to trending claims that Ubi Franklin stole a wristwatch during his wedding in the USA.

The media personality went viral on X (formerly Twitter) after reports alleged that he inspected a watch at Davido’s wedding with the intention of buying it but failed to return it, leading to accusations of theft.

Reacting to the controversy, Franklin dismissed the allegations as “completely false and misleading.” He clarified that Davido’s jeweller, Benny, had offered him a watch, but he declined due to concerns about its previous ownership.

Franklin explained that during the wedding, Benny’s brother brought him another watch—the one he had already bought and paid for. Amid the rush of activities, he “mistakenly held on to both watches,” wearing only the one he purchased.

He added that he left Miami early to attend his sister’s funeral and was later contacted about the unpaid watch while he was in transit.

However, Radiogad clarified that Ubi Franklin did not steal the watch, noting that he had initially declined the first one offered by Benny the jeweller and had unknowingly slipped it into his pocket before later buying a second watch.

Radiogad further criticised certain members of the 30BG crew, alleging they were responsible for spreading the theft rumour because they dislike Ubi Franklin’s closeness to Chioma and Davido a claim DMW reportedly confirmed.
