
Ayodeji David, popularly known as Kekere Jesu, a renowned Nigerian evangelist, and his assistant, Iyanu Joseph, sadly lost their lives in a devastating car accident.
The fatal crash, which claimed the lives of over 24 others, occurred along Sagamu Road and has plunged the Christian community and many Nigerians into deep mourning.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident involved several vehicles and was triggered by a mix of excessive speeding and poor visibility. Kekere Jesu, widely known for his fervent street preaching and vibrant presence on social media, was reportedly en route to a ministry assignment at the time of the incident.
He and Iyanu Joseph were confirmed dead at the scene, along with 22 other victims whose identities are yet to be disclosed.
Social media has since been flooded with heartfelt tributes and emotional videos, as many remember the evangelist as a humble and devoted servant of God. He was especially known for his dedication to spreading the gospel among young people and in rural communities.
Recall that recently Mrs. Iyanu Ehuwa Jeje, the wife of a bricklayer, gave birth to triplet boys on March 31, 2025, at Aribo Hospital in Ondo State. She was initially admitted to Igbokoda Health Centre but had to be transferred due to delays in receiving medical attention.
While well-wishers have gathered to support her, reports indicate that her husband, Bayo Jeje, has been noticeably absent since the birth.
