
Veteran Nollywood actor Tajudeen Oyewole, widely known as Abija, has revealed a dark period in his life when he contemplated taking his own life after a major disappointment.
Speaking in an interview shared on the Feel Right News TV YouTube channel on Friday, August 22, 2025, the actor recalled that the incident happened years ago during a time of personal struggle.
He explained that he was heartbroken after being denied the chance to perform pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, an experience he described as deeply painful and discouraging. The disappointment, he said, pushed him to the brink of suicide.
Oyewole recounted that while on his way to carry out the act, he unexpectedly encountered his girlfriend. According to him, she made remarks suggesting she knew about his intentions, even though he had told no one. The encounter left him shocked and frightened, feeling it was almost supernatural for her to sense what he had been secretly planning.
Reflecting on the incident, Oyewole admitted that the unexpected encounter changed everything. He explained that it made him pause, reconsider his actions, and ultimately abandon his plan, describing the intervention as a pivotal moment in his life’s journey.
