“Jide Kosoko Is My Blood Brother, Though Younger, He Has Been My Manager for Years” – Veteran Actress Iya Awero Opens Up

Veteran actress Olanrewaju Hassan, popularly known as Iya Awero, has opened up about her deep and long-standing bond with fellow actor Jide Kosoko, describing him as more than just a colleague.

During a recent interview on Behind The Fame African A-List, she spoke fondly of their shared roots and history. “Jide and I are family. Although he’s younger than me, we both hail from the same Kosoko Morounfolu Okunoye family in Lagos,” she revealed.

Iya Awero fondly recalled Jide Kosoko’s significant role in the early days of their acting group, especially his dedication as a reliable manager. “He was always there for us, ready to go wherever we needed. Jide handled our logistics and was a strong pillar of support,” she shared.

She also praised Kosoko for his exceptional talent in crafting persuasive proposals that often secured them acting gigs. “Once Jide wrote a proposal, it was almost certain we’d land the job,” she recalled, noting that both he and Oga Bello were highly creative and full of storytelling ideas.

While her colleagues contributed intellectually to the storytelling and planning process, Iya Awero shared that her passion was rooted in the theatrical aspects. “I was deeply drawn to the performance itself — the costumes, how they were worn, and how they enhanced each scene,” she concluded.
