Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has spoken out in more detail about her fallout with her junior colleague, Eniola Badmus.
A few weeks ago, Famous9ja reported that Eniola had left a comment on Opeyemi’s Instagram post, mocking her hairline. The comment didn’t sit well with Opeyemi, who responded by calling Eniola out for being hypocritical and insensitive. She reminded fans that Badmus herself was once a victim of body-shaming before undergoing surgery.
Although Eniola later claimed the comment was a joke and offered an apology, Opeyemi was not convinced. She deleted the comment and described the apology as fake and gaslighting. She also clarified that there was never any real bond between them, adding that they weren’t close and had never shared personal jokes. This, she said, made the comment even more disrespectful.
“We know ourselves, we might not talk on phones, we know those liking our comments, we know ourselves liking and commenting on each others posts. Since the day I opened my social media post, you’ve never liked my post or celebrated me and I’ve never done the same to you and we are not enemies. May Murphy Afolabi rest in peace, when he passed I went to his candle night and I saw Eniola, which we greeted each other but this is social media and Eniola know is how it works. You said my hair is balding , meanwhile, almost week before the video I made, social media bad belles have been making bad comments and I don’t f!ght people or correct people as long as it didn’t deduct money from my account. You know went under my comment and said “Opeyemi where is your hairline” I was pained by the comment honestly until people went under her comment to mock me, see honestly we all see each other’s comments, forget that ‘somebody is to busy’ nonone is to busy’”
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Opeyemi Aiyeola shared more insights into her strained relationship with Eniola Badmus. She revealed that ever since she created her social media account, Eniola has never liked or celebrated any of her posts—and she has reciprocated the same indifference.
Recalling a recent encounter at the late Murphy Afolabi’s candlelight service, Opeyemi noted that their interaction was limited to a simple greeting. She also admitted that Eniola’s comment didn’t initially hurt her until online trolls picked it up and began mocking her, turning it into a source of ridicule.
