Popular Nigerian actress and film producer Temitope Solaja, widely known as “Star Girl” or “Aruga,” has shared a heartfelt account of her challenging upbringing and rise to fame.
In an emotional interview published on Talk to B’s official YouTube channel on July 15, 2025, the screen star opened up about a part of her past many of her fans were unaware of.
Solaja revealed, “I didn’t have this parental care until I was in JSS3,” shedding light on the emotional struggles she endured growing up. She admitted that despite the difficulties, she remained determined and pushed through the pain: “I persevered even though growing up was difficult.”

Temitope Solaja also opened up about her groundbreaking journey into Nollywood. “I am an actress, a movie producer, and an entrepreneur,” she proudly stated. “‘Aruga’ was my very first movie — the first one I produced by myself.”
