Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has opened up about the journey of converting his wife, Priscilla Ojo, to Islam.
In an interview with Afrik Media, Juma shared that the process was not an easy one, describing it as exhausting. He revealed that he had to seek guidance from religious authorities to ensure everything was done properly and respectfully.
Juma Jux revealed that convincing his wife, Priscilla, to embrace Islam wasn’t easy. He admitted that the process took time and required him to seek guidance from religious leaders, who taught him how to approach the conversation respectfully. Eventually, with patience and understanding, Priscilla accepted the faith.
Speaking on their much-publicised wedding, the Tanzanian singer said he had envisioned it all beforehand even dreaming about it. He expressed how fortunate he feels to have found a partner who shares his values and life goals.
“I knew everything when it came to my wedding. I had a dream about it, I was so lucky to find someone who wants the same thing as I. It was a little difficult convincing my wife to become a muslim. On the other hand, I was receiving lessons from religious leaders, so there was a way that they were teaching me about how to convince her, and with time, she understood.”
A few weeks ago, Juma openly praised Priscilla during a behind-the-scenes moment on the set of his music video God Design. He described her as the best wife, commending her unwavering support through all circumstances.
Since making their relationship public, Juma has consistently expressed his deep love for Priscilla, the daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo. During their traditional wedding ceremony, he made a heartfelt promise to care for both Iyabo Ojo and her ex-husband, vowing to invite them to Tanzania once he and Priscilla begin building their family.
On Priscilla’s 24th birthday in March, Juma shared a touching message, saying that her presence brought clarity to his life. He added that she had brought colour and joy into his world in ways he couldn’t fully describe, expressing how grateful he was to celebrate her special day as her husband.
