Nollywood actor and content creator, Kamo State, recently opened up about the iPhone gift he received from his senior colleague and godmother, Funke Akindele.
During a Q&A session with fans, he described the award-winning filmmaker as a mother figure to many, even before their paths crossed. However, he playfully added that he’s the dramatic son who loves showcasing her kind gestures to the world.
Kamo revealed that just last week, Funke Akindele gifted him an iPhone 16 Pro Max worth ₦2.4 million and specifically told him not to post about it. He went on to say that the few things he shares about her are merely 1% of the countless things she has done for him and his family.
“Funke Akindele is a mother to many, even before I met her. I am just the dramatic son; that’s why mine is loud. Just last week, she bought me an iPhone 16 PROMAX for N2.4M and warned me not to post it. The things I post about her are just 1% out of the 100% she has done for me and my family.”
Just a week ago, Kamo State expressed heartfelt gratitude to Funke Akindele for treating his wife and newborn to breakfast and a shopping spree. The rising actor shared that he had a wonderful time with her, describing Funke as the mother God graciously placed in his life.
It will be recalled that in December, Kamo and his wife, Esther, tied the knot in a traditional and white wedding ceremony attended by several celebrities. In May, the couple welcomed their first child. While sharing photos of their newborn, the skit maker thanked his wife for her strength, acknowledging that she had done the hardest job.
In a touching follow-up post, Kamo stirred emotions online with a heartfelt appreciation note to Funke Akindele. He revealed how the actress went above and beyond to support them—making efforts to help his wife deliver their baby in the United States, arranging the best medical care in Nigeria, and providing her with a driver and full security. He also noted how she called every day to check on his wife’s well-being.
