Debbie Shokoya Reveals How Her Colleagues Tried To Deestroy Her Marriage (Video)

Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has opened up about a painful betrayal by her close friends.

In a chat with her colleague Bimpe Akintunde on the podcast Iriri Mi, Debbie revealed that some of her friends spread rumors that her husband used jazz to marry her.

According to her, they even claimed she had been hypnotized.

However, Debbie said she has come to accept the situation and has fully surrendered. She described her husband as her best friend, and said that her daughter, her family, and her husband’s family are all that truly matter to her.

Reflecting on the past, Debbie believes God took those people out of her life to protect her from setbacks and a life without purpose.

Those I called my people… the same ones who said I was hypnotised—were my friends. People I trusted. But today, I realise I have no one left. And you know what? I surrender.

My husband is my best friend. My son, my family, and my husband’s family—they are all I need.

Looking back now, I see clearly God took those people out of my life for a reason. If they were still here, maybe my life wouldn’t have meaning. Maybe they would’ve caused setbacks… maybe they would’ve sent me packing from my marriage.

But God stepped in and cleared the path. And I’m thankful.

As I entered this year, I told God I wouldn’t try to control anything. I handed it all over to Him. And truly, He has brought meaning into my life”.

Debbie isn’t the only one venting about fake friendships.
