Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has reignited controversy by taking fresh jabs at his colleagues, Funke Akindele and Iyabo Ojo.
In a recent online video, Yomi claimed that during the Baba Ijesha saga, Iyabo Ojo vowed to stop him from traveling abroad. He dismissed her statement, boasting that he had been traveling out of Nigeria for two decades and was once married to a British woman for 10 years.
He claimed that neither Iyabo Ojo nor Funke Akindele had traveled abroad before him. The controversial actor revealed that many urged him to sue Iyabo, but he chose not to, stating that only God can restore all that Baba Ijesha has lost.
“Iyabo Ojo said she’ll stop me from travelling, I was married to a British woman for 10 years, I started traveling abroad before Iyabo Ojo and Funke Akindele herself. Both Police investigation and Court didn’t establish the fact that baba ijesha slept with any child” – Yomi… pic.twitter.com/gXsm0HMS38— Oyindamola🙄 (@dammiedammie35) June 26, 2025
Yomi Fabiyi has revisited his long-standing feud with fellow actor Iyabo Ojo, which began during the Baba Ijesha rape saga. Reflecting on past events, Yomi said:
“During the Baba Ijesha issue, Iyabo Ojo claimed she would prevent me from traveling. But I’ve been traveling out of Nigeria for the past 20 years. I was married to a British woman for 10 years. Neither Iyabo nor Funke Akindele ever traveled abroad before I did. Some people advised me to sue her, but I chose not to. As for Baba Ijesha, only God can restore what he has lost. Up till today, the court never established that he actually slept with any child.”
Yomi and Iyabo became bitter rivals during the heated controversy surrounding Baba Ijesha’s alleged molestation of a 14-year-old girl. Both actors took opposing stances and often clashed publicly on Instagram, throwing shades and accusations at each other.
However, in 2021, a leaked chat revealed Yomi reaching out to Iyabo, expressing a desire to end the feud. In the message, he shared how much he missed their friendship and hoped they could reconcile. Yomi emphasized that he never saw Iyabo as an enemy but would leave the decision to make peace entirely up to her.
