Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has revealed that before she took on her role in the award-winning film Elevator Baby, director Niyi Akinmolayan first sought the approval of her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi.
The actress shared this insight while reflecting on the behind-the-scenes moments of the movie’s production.
In an interview with Pulse NG, Toyin Abraham revealed that she was seven months pregnant when Niyi Akinmolayan approached her for Elevator Baby. At the time, she was keeping her pregnancy private, and Niyi had no idea she was expecting.
She explained that she asked him to seek her husband Kolawole Ajeyemi’s permission before proceeding. Fortunately, Kolawole gave his approval and even accompanied her to the set to offer his support. Toyin added that she had two nurses on set to attend to her needs throughout the shoot.
“I was pregnant with Ireoluwa, and Ire will be 6 in August, when we shot this movie. When I got pregnant, I didn’t want people to know. So, I got a call from Mr Niyi and he said there is a scene that I would do and they would do make-up for me as a pregnant woman. It is actually not my movie, it is Antar Hills, and I am like ‘Did you know I am pregnant?’, and I was like 7 months. I told him he had to ask my husband if he would agree. He came to the house and spoke to my husband, and he agreed. My husband was on set, and two nurses were on set. It was a crázy shoot but I enjoyed myself”.
