Veteran Yoruba actor Alhaji Tajudeen Oyewole, popularly known as Abijawara Bi Ekun, shared a humorous yet touching personal story during an interview with Behind the Fame.
The seasoned actor recounted a memorable incident that took place while he was on location filming one of his classic movies, Ibinu Abija. According to him, one of his sons visited him on set in a village to seek assistance with school fees.
However, the visit took an unexpected turn. “The village I went to shoot my film Ibinu Abija, one of my sons came to meet me there to ask me for school fees. He got to the village and they wanted him to stay as long as he wanted before going back because he met a lady,” he said.
Concerned, Abijawara explained, “I didn’t want him to get married yet. I only sent him there and now he’s chasing a woman he cannot marry.”
Soon, the villagers became involved. “The villagers started warning me to talk to my son. They told me he was chasing a girl that belongs to the village – as in she is their ‘wife’,” he narrated.
Driven by curiosity and concern, the veteran actor decided to investigate. “The next day I started a little digging about the girl and found out that she was not dating anyone in the village, she was actually from the city.”
