Popular Yoruba actor and producer, Obatidey Kelvin, has opened up about an emotional experience he faced while working on one of his movies.
Speaking in an interview on the official YouTube channel of Oyinmomo TV, Kelvin shared a touching moment that challenged both his resilience and professionalism during the film’s production.
“When I started shooting this movie, it was the saddest day for me. I was about to act when my brother called me and said he had an accident. He said there were 24 people in the car and 21 died,” Kelvin shared.
The heartbreaking news deeply unsettled him, but he made the difficult decision to continue with the production, despite the emotional strain.
“I wondered if I could even go on with the shoot. After each scene, I’d step aside to check how he was faring. I didn’t tell anyone.”
For an entire day, Kelvin continued filming in silence, masking his inner pain from the crew and cast. It wasn’t until the end of the first day that he revealed the situation.
“After Day 1, I explained everything to the director and he said, ‘and you kept acting?’ and I said yes.”
